The trial is the whole product for thirty days — every platform, the pedal, offline, your whole band on your setlists. It has to be, because a full library on a stand is the thing worth judging.
What the money pays for, plainly: keeping the service running. It's why there are no ads and nothing to sell about you, and it's what keeps the app free of throwaway accounts.
Stopping never costs you your work. Cancelling runs to the end of the period you've paid for. After that your charts and setlists lock — still listed, greyed out, not playable — and they stay that way intact for as long as the account exists. Nothing is deleted on a timer, at any distance. Subscribe again whenever and all of it unlocks exactly as you left it.
And you can export everything at any point, locked or not: one chart, one setlist, or the whole library as a zip with a file per song.
Subscriptions are bought and managed on the web app.
The actual numbers. A library holds up to 5,000 charts, and an Owner can have up to 100 people across all their setlists. Those are set far above a working repertoire and a working address book, so in practice you won't meet them — but they're real, so here they are. If you need more, write to us and we'll sort something out.
Questions about paying
How does the free trial work?
Thirty days, with a card entered up front. At the end of the thirty days the first payment goes through automatically. Cancel before then and you're charged nothing at all.
Do I pay for each person in my band?
No. The subscription is for your library, not for people. Everyone you add to a setlist uses Chordisplay free, with their own account on their own device. You're paying because the library is yours, not because five people are in the band.
What if I cancel?
Your subscription runs to the end of the period you've already paid for — there's no proration and no partial refund. After that the library locks: every chart and setlist is still listed, greyed out and not playable. Nothing is deleted, at any distance in time. Subscribe again a week or five years later and all of it comes back exactly as it was.
Can I still get my charts out if it's locked?
Yes, always. Export ignores the lock completely — one chart, one setlist, or the whole library as a zip with a file per song. Plain text files, and they open anywhere.
What if two of us both keep our own libraries?
Then you each have your own subscription, because you each own a library. You can send charts back and forth; the copies stay independent.
How do I pay on an iPad?
Subscriptions are bought and managed on the web. The apps read your plan — there's no checkout in them.
