Terms of Service

By using Chordisplay you agree to these terms.

Your account

You're responsible for what happens under your account and for the accuracy of the email address you sign up with. Don't share your login links.

Your content

You keep ownership of the charts and setlists you create. You give us only the permission needed to store them and show them to you and the people you invite.

You're responsible for having the right to store what you upload.

Subscriptions and payment

Owning a library is a paid subscription after a free trial. Everyone you invite to your setlists is free, however many of them there are, and never enters a card.

Payment is taken by Stripe. A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it, and you can cancel at any time from within the app. Cancelling runs your subscription to the end of the period you have already paid for; there is no proration and no partial refund.

If a subscription ends, your library locks rather than disappearing. Every chart and setlist stays exactly where it is, nothing is deleted at any distance in time, and subscribing again brings all of it back unchanged. Export keeps working while you're locked, so you can always take your own work with you.

Prices may change. We won't change the price of a subscription you are already paying without telling you first, and any change takes effect at your next renewal rather than partway through a period.

Acceptable use

Don't use Chordisplay to:

• break the law, or help anyone else do so;
• store or transmit content that is illegal, or that harasses, threatens, or endangers someone;
• use the charts, setlists, or invitations as a channel for activity that has nothing to do with music and everything to do with avoiding scrutiny;
• attempt to reach accounts or libraries that aren't yours;
• automate bulk account creation, or place unreasonable load on the service.

Copyright

Chordisplay ships no songs. Every chart in it was put there by the person whose library it sits in, and it is visible only to them and to the people they have given access to. We don't publish it, index it, or offer it to anyone else.

Accounts that repeatedly store material they have no right to are terminated.

Copyright complaints and takedowns

If you own the rights to a work and believe it is stored here without your permission, send a notice to our designated copyright agent:

Under 17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3) your notice has to include all of the following, or we may not be able to act on it:

• your physical or electronic signature;
• identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed;
• identification of the material you say is infringing, with enough detail for us to find it;
• your address, telephone number and email address;
• a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent, or the law;
• a statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or are authorised to act on their behalf.

We'll remove or disable access to anything we find infringing and tell the account holder what was removed and why. If you're that account holder and believe the material was removed by mistake, you can send a counter-notice to the same agent, containing your signature, identification of what was removed and where it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe it was removed by mistake or misidentification, your name, address and telephone number, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the United States District Court for the district your address is in.

Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, carries liability for damages under 17 U.S.C. §512(f).

Enforcement

We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, or that we reasonably believe is being used to cause harm. Where we can, we'll say why. Serious matters may be reported to the relevant authorities.

Availability

Chordisplay is provided as-is, with no guarantee of availability. Keep your own copies of anything you can't afford to lose.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continuing to use the service after a change means accepting the revised version.
